Start with the story, then the songs
Aladdin offers a familiar Disney adventure. & Juliet imagines Juliet taking a different path and uses well-known pop music. Our starting suggestion is Aladdin for a group chiefly interested in that Disney world, and & Juliet for people who want a contemporary comic twist and recognisable pop songs.
Family suitability is not the same
Aladdin recommends ages 6 and up. & Juliet recommends ages 8 and up with adult language, and does not admit under 4s. Discuss the tone and expected attention span as well as the minimum entrance rules. Knowing a song or character does not answer every family-suitability question.
Check the date before choosing & Juliet
The official & Juliet Broadway calendar announces January 3, 2027 as its final performance. Check the current New York calendar before making it central to a future trip. A touring performance elsewhere does not create Broadway availability. For either show, a listing is not a guarantee of seats on your date.
Compare seats for your actual group
Decide how much your group values an overall stage view, proximity and sitting together. Compare the same guest count and read any restricted-view or allocation wording. A category sold as premium does not explain the exact seat by itself. Confirm access or other arrangements before paying.
Plan a musical evening, not a concert
Both are theatrical productions. Follow the theatre’s guidance on photography and audience behaviour, and do not assume familiar music means audience singalong. Choose the actual performance first, then dinner and transport. If someone’s main interest is a non-musical stage adventure, also consider the Harry Potter guide.
