Start with two actual performances
Do not build the plan around a generic matinee and evening schedule. Check that both chosen shows perform on your date, then compare their real starting times. Holidays and individual productions can change the pattern. A ticket listing or a typical weekly schedule is not enough to confirm the day.
Calculate the gap generously

Harry Potter is approximately 2 hours 55 minutes including an interval. Compare the actual performances rather than assuming a shorter title always finishes earlier.
Keep meals and sightseeing realistic

Choose variety and protect the booking budget

Read change and cancellation conditions independently: trouble reaching one show does not automatically create flexibility on the other booking.
